SEOUL BIT-CHORONG FESTIVAL

  • SEOUL GWANGWHA-MUN STATION Jongno-gu, Seoul, 110-050 South Korea (map)

A special winter holiday starts with the right festival in Seoul. The 14th annual Seoul Winter Lantern Festival will be the perfect romantic destination with a hint of cultural uniqueness for both tourists and locals. The colorful 15-day-long Festival will showcase an array of large traditional paper (Hanji) lanterns along Gwanghwamun plaza. Previously held along the Cheonggyecheon stream, this year the festival takes place along the Gwanghwamun plaza to celebrate its successful expansion and reconstruction of the area. As you walk along Gwanghwamun plaza you will see creative lanterns of all sorts in line with an annual theme lighting up the renovated 433,000-square-foot sized plaza in the heart of Seoul. This illuminating scenery with a backdrop of the Gyeongbokgung palace will serve as the perfect place for a night view of the bustling city.
